Not too long ago we featured Brooklyn-based architect Elizabeth Roberts’ 1850s cedar-shingle cottage in Bellport, Long Island (the low-key Hamptons alternative). Our favorite feature? The breezy screened porch, overlooking the pool and outfitted with easy-to-replicate elements.

Here’s a guide (and see the full house here):

At one end of the porch, Elizabeth has created an outdoor dining area. For a similar shade of gray for the flooring, consider Benjamin Moore’s Stormy Monday. The Knotty Bubble chandelier by Lindsey Adelman was inspired by Japanese packaging, buoys, and shibari.
